This park was born in 1992 when construction was completed and its grand opening was celebrated. The park was originally built by USAA and Gaylord Entertainment, and was created to be a show park. In March 1998 Premier Parks, Inc. took over the park, and since then, innovative roller coasters and other thrilling rides have been installed. In December 2005, Red Zone, LLC took over Six Flags, Inc. and continues to bring thrills and excitement to guests of all ages.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas has proven to be an award winning park, as recipient of Amusement Today's Golden Ticket Award for "Best Shows" in the country (#1 for 10 consecutive years!) and for amazing rides such as Superman Krypton Coaster, which was rated the 36th best steel roller coaster in 2007.
